I know I doubted our ability to play due to questionable player counts back in the spring (we still have never been below 12 tournament players in our existence) but since returning to school I've found that we could easily field 3 full lines, plus pit crew, coaches and plenty of people for the sidelines. Getting past that, I would like to know what teams there are going to be in the SACC to see if it's worth it for us to even continue playing NCPA events. We don't have the money, nor the time available (almost all our classes are required attendance, its more like high school with dorms than college) to travel to events when it won't even be a fully recognized event. -Zack Taylor Captain Embry-Riddle Eagles

And teams wern' really invited - we set a priority structure, and used that to determine who got to play of the teams who said they wanted to play. GaTech is going to play AA. I think Steve Davidson has some other schools in Cenral Florida looking to play, and if we can get 8 teams, we'd do an event at NPPL Miami as well. If you've got three, that'd get us almost halfway there. I'm sure UF would send at least one team. - Chris

According to the supposed requirements top choice went to teams who played xball... Neither of us did. Next went to top ranking. ERAU - #12 FSU - #30 I believe next was either length of time in NCPA or always having more than 12 members. ERAU - 3 years 12+ members at all times FSU - 1.5 years i dont know their member count, it may be higher than ours. Seems that despite us being ahead on the priority structure, we weren't even offered a chance. As of 9/20 I could have certainly told you we were interested in playing had anyone asked me. We're considering World Cup Xball, since anyone can play that, but it's really up in the air at this point. Posts: 1 (10/03/05 08:51:01) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hey ERiddle... sorry you guys arent playing xball this year. but what basically happened was the conference was formed in late june basically by having UF contacting schools in the South East. Thats how it was started. After the 4 initial teams comitted there was plenty of talk on the pbnation forums and whatnot, so you had plenty of time to speak up if you had been paying attention. GT tried to get in on this season too, but unfortunately they werent ranked high enough to overtake FSU. So had you simply spoken up before everyone had paid then you would have been good to go. So on the one hand its unfair that you guys arent playing this year, its unfair to blame that on anyone else than yourselves. I would just practice all semester, go play at Cup, then go play in the open division at nationals and see if you can get ranked for next year.

Posts: 1859 (10/03/05 10:03:26) Chris Raehl NCPA President Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	The priority structure was this: - Teams that notified us that they wanted to play Class A prior to Sept. 1. - Of those teams, teams who had played Class A last year (in order of performance) - Then teams who had played 5-man, in order of ranking. Not knowing if you were able to play until 9/20, you guys didn't meet the primary criteria. The first SouthEast Class A event was on Sept 24. Teams were making a full-season commitment, it's just not reasonable for us to wait until 4 days before the start of the season to see if teams are able to compete or not and then try and find another team with 4 days notice when other teams were prepared months in advance. Embry can still play Class A at cup and Nationals. - Chris

I thought the NATIONAL COLLEGE PAINTBALL ASSOCIATION FORUM would be the PRIMARY FORUM... Maybe this only makes sense to me. Had anything been posted here about this, I certainly would have mentioned our interest in playing. I never knew college paintball was discussed on pbnation until about a month or two ago. Regardless, I knew before September 1st we were interested in playing. Since nothing was posted up here about it, I never said anything because I thought someone would have asked who was interested. The only reason I said we knew by 9/20 that we wanted to play was because YOU YOURSELF CHRIS RAEHL said that we needed to know by then. By then saying we needed to know by September 1st, you completely contradicted your own words. Saying it was our fault for not checking PBNation really doesn't make any sense whatsoever either because PBNation is not the NCPA website forum. One would think that all the prevalent information about collegiate paintball would be on this forum, not some other forum that is not directly involved with college paintball.
